Insurance is fucking ridiculous. I've gone through so much with them and health issues with my family and myself, it's absurd. They come up with the most inane bullshit and excuses. I'm sorry this happened to you. Hopefully things work out. <3
There is no-way I can go....it would cost £27,000 for the 6 weeks. I'm so disappointed. The fact I had a referral, an assessment, a day there, and then I'm just cut-off my major hope at getting better.
Bupa (the insurance company) only cover you if you've been ill for less than 2 years....I don't think anyone with an Eating Disorder is even going to need rehab after less than 2 years. You try different methods first. This just perpetuates the ignorance which already surrounds ED's.
that's awful, i don't understand how insurance companies can get away with stuff like that. *hugs* there are other ways, it's different, but don't lose hope. =)
yes- exactly. It's absolutley neglectful and ignorant towards psychiatric illnesses.
There is so much discussion and bloody moral panic around: "Ohh my, the rise of eating disorders and how this is obviously linked with skinny celebrities"
