... but it's actually a bit early to be dressing up in costumes just yet.

No, Halloween. I suppose they don't have it in your world.
It's... well, you just kind of dress up in costumes and get candy. In my world, kids would go door to door and say trick or treat.
Generally, actual tricks weren't involved. I think there's some history behind it but... I don't really remember offhand.

Think about it. We're basically in the land where scary things live AND this place has got a sense of humor. It makes sense to me that they'd put a lot of effort into the holiday with the ghost and monster themes.
