Oh, you have got to be kidding me.

No food, no water, not heat -- why in the world would someone shut down the gas and water pressure and take all the food from the supply centers in this city? Seems rather detrimental to the whole "survival" business, especially with this ridiculously cold weather coming on. Seriously, who does stuff like this?

Ya know any landmarks? I might not be able to offer ya a place, but I can try to figure where you are and where you can go from there that'd be acceptin'...

This has happened multiple times?

Nothing in particular really stands out... That's- really kind of you.

Yeah...still ain't figured out why, but every time it does, somethin' worse happens. People disappear, monsters come back to life, food goes missin'...

Ain't hardly anythin'. Gotta watch out for each other 'round here...

No street signs or nothin'?

..."Monsters come back to life"? As in the small skittery monsters, or the big giant one?

I think I'm on 9th Avenue somewhere. Ish. Not sure exactly.

It's called villainy. Someone out there hates us and likes to do things like make us skip days, take abilities away, and evil things like that. Well, unless you don't think someone is behind all this...you're the "villain" so I'll let you decide that for yourself. If you don't buy into it then this could all just be, as Sokka would say, the universe hating us.

Oh, let's not forget the random disappearances that occur sometimes too...but that hasn't happened in awhile.

Ha ha. Aren't you a riot.

Still though... to make an entire city skip days and lose their abilities... that's some pretty heavy stuff. I've managed to build a muscle-neutralizer, but to dampen someone's powers? And to affect everyone that comes through here... I wonder how they did it. It's certainly the million dollar question, in any case.

People disappearing? When was the last time that happened?

I get that a lot.

Muscle-neutralizer? What'd that do? I think there's more than one million dollar question: how? who? why? etc. I have a friend trying to figure it out but this place always seems to throw a new loop at us.

Hmmm...I think it's been a few months now...before, what was that holiday...oh...Halloween I'm sure.

I can imagine.

It was designed to debilitate my nemesis. Since he relies on his super-strength so much, I thought that if I were able to weaken him, I'd be able take him down. Didn't work, though.

Several months... huh. And you said "sometimes"? So this has happened more than just once?

Nothin' new, unfortunately; things're famed for poppin' up and disappearing at random, people and days in particular. But it's a tough and resourceful population we got livin' here, lucky enough.

Jeez... this place just gets weirder and weirder the more I hear about it. I've gotta say, it's impressive that everyone's managed to get by as well as they have. I mean, yeah -- everything's all messed up and there's lots of problems still floating around, but it's not like you're all, you know, dead or anything.

Yeah. Gotta get used to the strange fast, in this place. The people themselves are one thing, the events're the real icing. I got some practice in that category back home, but it's hard to be prepared for anything this place throws at ya. Rollin' with the punches is best.

We've been through some tough stuff these last couple months, but working together and keepin' up the morale does real wonders on seein' us through.

...probably might want to start getting used to the missing days.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if people start to go missing and show up in weird places, either.

So I've heard.

Weird places?

Weird places. Like on top of buildings and such. Happened to me one time, and apparently a few others.

I'm fine; I'm just not used to the cold. It's a lot warmer where I'm from.

Uh. Kinda. I really didn't have a chance to get settled before all this started happening.

Okay! Ah- be sure to stay warm! Giselle-san makes scarves - maybe you could ask her to make one for you!

Oh, you can come stay with us! We're at the Library Hotel and there's plenty of rooms! Um...it's a little cold, but everywhere is a little cold right now, and - oh! We have a fireplace!
