Heh, women can be real tricky, huh? In my experience though, it's usually best to be honest about these things, otherwise then they get all stuck inside and then they get all twisted and messed up. Once you're out with it though, no matter the outcome, well, at least then you don't have to worry about it anymore, and that huge knot in your stomach can finally start lettin' go.

Trust me, kid. I'm willing to bet that if this friend of yours just comes out with it, he'll feel alot better.

Oh, that's so sweet! Valentine's Day is the perfect holiday for something like that! If your friend's friend is so worried about communicating verbally perhaps he can write her a note and find some pretty flowers to send her. Then, perhaps have someone else deliver it, like a friend, so that he doesn't back out of it.
