Cassie, once again was eyeing that canari. After a moment, steeling her resolve, she reached forward to run her finger down the etched patterns on the sides.

Thelma peered over from her bed.

"What was that?"

"Remind me not to do that again," Cassie muttered, trying to shrug off the uncomfortable feeling that still remained.

"Don't do that again," Thelma said. "You touched it, didn't you?"

Cassie only resisted the urge to roll her eyes as she was far more focussed trying to rub the tingling sensation out of her fingertips.

She nodded silently after a moment, still trying to make sense of what she'd seen.
