Santong Noodles: Chinatown Boycott #2?

I got to see a friend who came in from out of town tonight, and they felt like Santong Noodles in Chinatown. I hadn't been there in awhile, and remembered vaguely that they didn't have too much vegetarian selection and that their service was kinda rude. yeah, I've noticed that too. Seems like the more Fobbish they are, the more rude they are.

Well, I think mostly the attitude in restaurants in Chinatown is indifference. That's fine. I get my good authentic cheap Chinese food (the best stuff is of course served / cooked by FOBs), that's all I care about. Rudeness though, there really is never any excuse, unless I suppose I was rude to them first for some reason.

I always try to take into account the language barrier if they're trying to communicate to me in English; sometimes yes, they seem short because they don't know the nuances of the language. On the other hand, it's how they say stuff. People can suck at English but still exude an aura of politeness and kindness. In this case though, there was really no excuse since I was speaking in Chinese to them.

I know that Santong Noodles is making a killing, and maybe that is what fosters their "I don't care if I piss you off bc we're making millions anyway" attitude. Well, I won't be willingly contributing to their fortune anytime soon ...
