my dad died. my mom and i were going out to lunch today and she broke it to me in the car. she said "i have something to tell you", with a dire look on her face. at first, i thought she was going to tell me my grandma died, because she's been sick. mom said "no". i asked if my cat sylvia was okay. she said "yes, she's fine". i was prepared

im really sorry to hear this, my dad died when i was 15 and its still hard for me. we werent very close and it still kills me every time i think about it. but like everything you just have to try to remember the good, think of alll the great qualities he passed on to you and it will get easier. even if youre never completely okay with it, hopefullyit gets easier.

my best friend's dad died when she was 13. she was incredibly close to him. i can't even imagine what she went through, if i'm feeling like this.

Totally blows, Eliza. Totally. Still though, at least your family talked about him. No one, not even mom, brings up my dad. I'm not sure why. Last I heard he moved to the west coast, but that was years ago
