Angel sighed softly, closing the door quietly to his son's bedroom, leaving him sleep. He ran a hand through his un-gelled hair tiredly, closing his eyes for a moment. Well, he wasn't properly dead, that was something to be thankful for.
Spike leant against the wall at the end of the hall, watching him, before ducking his head and lighting up breathing out a plume of smoke slowly letting the smoke rings dissipate. He lifted his head looking back at the wall opposite him.
Angel turned his head to watch him a moment, before quietly moving to stand beside him, leaning against the wall, watching the smoke plumes rise.
Blue eyes flicked over to him warily before looking back at the wall, he hadn't spoken to Angel in days except to say Connor was back. He frowned slipping one hand into his pocket the other pulling the cigarette out of his mouth as another plume joined the first. He hunched his shoulder and concentrated on the crack on the wall. A reminder of happier times "So...he alright then?"
"I think 'alright' is too broad a term, he’s…here", Angel shrugged, "I think he will be...eventually"
He watched him a moment, before dropping his head, a frown forming on his forehead.
"Will...", he started before sighing, hanging his head again.
The blond dropped his gaze to the floor. "I know mate, words ain't enough and all and you need time."
"No", Angel murmured, "I've had time"
His frown deepened and he looked away dropping his cigarette and crushing it under his boot.
"Oh..." He murmured his shoulders falling as he nodded, "This the part where I pack my stuff?", he murmured his jaw tight as he shove his hands into his pockets. Wishing he'd been wearing his coat instead of just a t shirt.
"What?", Angel blinked, looking at him, confused, before shaking his head, "William, I never said I wanted to leave you"
Spike looked at him his eyes upset and confused before looking away.
"Oh...then what?" He asked
Angel shrugged softly. "I needed time to get over the hurt, Spike", he said, "To come to terms with it and move on"
He looked at him.
"Will, we have the rest of eternity, here, we're bound to have some pretty serious fights now and again, but it doesn't mean I love you any less or even for an iota of a second I want to end what we have"
"But you never..." He frowned shutting up not wanting to fight again. He simply nodded chewing on his lip. "Alright."
"Never what?", Angel asked softly, watching him, "Come on, Will, talk to me here, please"
He rubbed his eyes and shook his head standing up straight. "Forget it, doesn't matter."
"Yeah, William, it does", said Angel, watching him, "....I don't want things to get that bad again....we have to talk to each other about things that are bothering us"
"Yeah but its selfish and you're dealing with all of this."
"Will....", Angel sighed softly, "You’re so much a part of my life, you should be able to tell me anything....and yeah, alright, I have a lot...but we can still talk"
He frowned, over the last few days he'd given up being able to tell this to Liam for fear that the other man would leave and so now that the moment was here, he had been taken by surprise and was at a bit of a loss. He frowned those few days had taken their toll and now the chatty, fiery blond just seemed small and tired. "You know what I'm going to say."
He watched him quietly, before sighing softly. "Yeah", he said quietly, "I know. I don't come to you when I'm upset....I run off" He looked at him. "It's in my nature, Spike, I did it when I was a human, too, it's such an ingrained part of me, to try and get away to be alone". He shrugged softly. "Even after all this time, I still find it hard to confide in people when I'm really upset. My first instinct is to be alone"
The blond nodded, "It just...it makes me feel like..." He trailed off his mind supplying him with the 'you're beneath me’ commentary to run through his head. He pushed away from the wall with a scowl .
The elder vampire caught his hand with a soft frown, already knowing where this was going. "It's nothing to do with you", he whispered, "Please don't think it is. It's my own damn fault. I ran away from everyone, not just you".
He frowned looking down at his hand his eyes filling up as he looked away again sharply. "Yeah but...I ain't...One day you will...One day you'll find someone you can run to and he ain't me." He murmured, the realisation that maybe they wouldn't always be together. That he'd find someone better than him weighed on him.
Angel frowned softly, wanting desperately to pull the smaller vampire into his arms, but not daring to. "Spike, there's only two people in the whole world I can open up to", he said, "And only one I could tell anything to, and that person is you". He watched him sadly. "You're the one I run to after I've been selfish and alone. You"
"You never need me pet, not really," he whispered looking up at him.
"That's stupid", said Angel, frowning, "Have you not taken a good look at me lately?"
He frowned, gesturing at his very uncared for state, hair un-gelled, unwashed and uncared for, his usual immaculate clothing a rumpled mess. His face drawn and tired from lack of sleep.
"This is what I look like when I haven't got you in my life", he murmured, "Eating rats and everything"
"You wouldn't look at me, not once. " He murmured before frowning. “I felt like you were dying and I couldn't help you, I got so...I wanted to take your place and you couldn't even look at me pet." He whispered dropping his head his voice cracking.
Angel moved in, pulling him into a hug. "I'm sorry", he whispered gently, "I....I was hurt, and I didn't...."
He squeezed him gently.
"Oh, Love"
The shorter man dropped his head biting his lip his fingers pulling at Angel's shirt his eyes shut tight
Angel pulled him in, his hand brushing over his back soothingly, resting his chin on his shoulder. "...I'm so sorry, Love"
He slid his arms around him staying quiet and ashamed of himself his fingers pulling at his back.
Angel hugged him tight, as tight as he could without breaking bones, burying his face in the crook of his neck.
He began to shudder buried tight in his arms. As much as the blond was cocky and full of bravado, the small fool for love romantic poet within was so easily heartbroken when someone got through into his veins.
The older vampire rocked him gently, hugging him close. "Shhh, William, I'm here love", he murmured gently, his voice slipping back into a thick Irish brogue.
"I'm sorry," he mumbled his voice cracking. "Hate it when...when you ignore me. Hate feeling like...like I'm not ...not worth it."
Liam blinked, his hands cupping William's face gently. "You are always worth it to me", he whispered, "You're worth absolutely everything, you're the one thing in the entire universe that can keep me going. William, you're the single most important being in my whole life"
He looked at him his eyes tear filled and heartbroken as he tried to believe him over the murmur from his blackened heart crushed under so many heels since his childhood..
He watched him a moment, before leaning in, giving him a deep, powerful kiss, trying to prove to this man how much he really meant to him, how he couldn't exist without him.
He closed his eyes tight as he kissed him desperately leaning against him.
Angel pulled him in tight, deepening the powerful kiss, his hands tightening in his husband's T-Shirt.
He sobbed into the kiss his fingers pawing at him before he tightened his arms around him tightly breaking down.
Angel pulled him in close, murmuring softly, trying to ease him, his hands brushing over his back gently. "I'm here"
He buried his face in his neck and nodded catching his breath as he breathed him in.
Angel hugged him close one hand brushing through his hair. "I love you, William, so much", he whispered, "More than I've ever loved anyone"
He sniffed and lifted his head to look at him, wiping his eyes and looking away. "Swear it?"
Angel blinked, turning Spike's head to face him. "I swear it, William", he whispered, "I'd prove it any way you asked me to"
He watched him before reaching for his hand. "Alright, ugh I'm such a ponce." He replied shaking his head.
"No you're not", Angel murmured with a soft frown, taking his hand, squeezing it gently.
He shrugged softly before looking at him, "I know there ain't much you can do about the running away thing...but you gotta not take it to heart when I blow up alright?"
"Alright", whispered Angel softly, "And I'll try, William, it might take a few years, but I'll try not to run away"
William nodded, "Just ...remember I ain't so bad to come to."
"You're fantastic to come to", Liam said gently, brushing a hand over his cheek, "If I could pick only one person to go to forever, it would be you"
He smiled a little "Thanks." he mumbled quietly under his breath
"No, thank you", Angel replied, leaning in, kissing his forehead.
He watched him before closing his eyes gratefully before smiling and ducking his head playing with Angel's fingers.
Angel's fingers laced with Spikes, smiling softly, holding him close, fear of losing him flowing away like a weight being pulled off.
Spike settled against him looking up a little at him and kissing his cheek gently. "You alright?"
"I'm better now with you here like this", Angel whispered softly.
"You're not still hurt cos of what I did?"
"No", Angel whispered.
He nodded, "So you're not mad at me anymore?"
Angel shook his head, brushing his hand through Spike's hair tenderly. "No, I'm not"
He nodded, "Alright then. so I can go back to bugging you about smokes and chicken?" He asked
Angel let out a chuckle, a proper one. "Yes, Spike, you can"
He smiled happily and nodded tightening his arms around him, "Just not yet yeah?" He whispered nuzzling in.
"Alright", he whispered back, holding him close, "Not yet"
He smiled and swayed with him. "Ain't many people that want William," he murmured smiling.
Angel smiled softly, swaying gently. "I love him, and I always have, both of you, so very much"
He smiled kissing his hand. "Yeah, I know." He whispered settled before smiling. "Actually I could do with a good mug of blood now, I'm starving, couldn't bear to touch those rats."
"Hmmm far more classier than me", Angel nuzzled him gently, "Yeah, they're not very nutritious, I could use a decent meal myself"
He smiled looking at him pointedly
"What?", he asked, blinking and arching an eyebrow.
He sighed, "Go make the love of your life some blood then."
Angel smiled, dipping his head down to kiss him tenderly. "Alright", he whispered, loath to let him go, but finally releasing him, moving to the kitchen.
Spike smiled following him not releasing his hand as he followed before sitting on the counter watching him.
Angel leaned up to kiss him again, not wanting to be far from him as he set about making the blood, heating up the pan.
Spike smiled kissing him back adoringly. The rare showing of William absolutely besotted with the older man.
Angel poured the blood into each mug, before putting them in the pan to heat up, his arms moving around Spike's waist as he kissed his chin lovingly.
Spike smiled looking down at him kissing him "Love you." He whispered against his lips. "My Liam."
"I love you too", he whispered back, moving closer, "My William"
He smiled dragging his fingers through Liam's un-gelled hair. "Yours."
"Hmmm, completely and utterly", he whispered, "As I'm yours"
He rolled his eyes, "Soft prat." He whispered kissing him.
"Of course", Liam replied, returning the kiss.
He smiled, "The blood's gonna burn pet." He whispered.
"Mmmm?", he blinked, before chuckled, disentangling himself from Spike and getting the blood out, turning the stove off.
He smiled and got his weetabix crumbling it in before dusting his hands off.
Angel watched him fondly, taking his own mug, sipping it gratefully.
Spike smiled drinking it down greedily and getting a blood moustache.
Angel chuckled, finishing his blood much more neatly, before leaning in, kissing the moustache away.
Spike half giggled kissing him back happily
Angel couldn't help but smile at the giggle he knew Spike would deny if he brought it up, deepening the kiss slowly.
He smiled deepening it gently, purring in Angel's arms as his tongue danced against Liam's.
Angel shivered at the purr, so grateful to hear it again as he returned with a deep, rumbling purr of his own, tasting his husbands mouth.
William smiled wrapping his arms and legs around him tasting him happily, he was home.
Liam let out a louder purr, his arms wrapping tightly around William, pulling him in as he kissed him deeply.
He smiled into the kiss climbing onto him, moaning soft and warm.
Angel leaned back, happy to pull him into his arms, holding him close easily as he kissed him, letting out a soft moan of his own.
Spike smiled breaking the kiss, "Missed you Liam..."
"I missed you too, William", whispered Angel softly, nuzzling him.
He smiled resting his head against his, "And you tell anyone I said that and I'll kill you." He murmured with a smile
Angel chuckled softly, brown eyes looking into blue. "Yes, Love"
He smiled softly just gazing into his eyes his hand stroking his cheek.
Angel leaned into his touch with a soft smile, his eyes drinking in his features.
He smiled softly, "Least you suit your name."
"What, Liam?", he asked, confused.
"Angel." He murmured
"Oh", Angel replied, before catching on and blushing, ducking his head, "Oh"
William smiled enjoying the blush, "It's never made you go red before".
Angel flushed more, before flicking his eyes up to look at him. "Took me this long to start maybe believing it"
He smiled softly, really?" He asked
"Yeah, really", Angel smiled back shyly.
He grinned, "I did that?" He asked
"You did", Angel smiled, watching him.
He smiled kissing his jaw, "That's kinda nice..."
"Yeah?", Angel asked, arching his head back for him.
He nodded kissing his neck. "I like knowing I do stuff no one else has managed to.
Angel shivered, a purr escaping his lips at Spike's actions. "You can always do that, Love"
He grinned, "Like what?" He asked mouthing at his neck.
"This..for one", he moaned softly, then watched him, "So many things, I can catalogue them down for you in a book if you like"
He grinned, "You should." He replied with a happy nod.
"Mmm, I'll do that for you, then", Angel smiled happily.
He laughed sliding his feet down to the floor wrapping his arms around his wais as he kissed his neck cuddling him.
Angel purred happily, cuddling him back as he arched his neck, giving him better access, big arms curled protectively around him.
He smiled against his neck. "You should get some sleep love," He whispered.
Angel smiled, nuzzling him softly. "Come with me?"
"Ain't going anywhere else." He whispered.
"Thank you", he murmured, leaning in for a soft kiss before leading them back to their room.
The blond smile dropping his head and following him, keeping a tight hold of his hand
Angel squeezed their hands together tightly, interlinking their fingers as they walked.
He smiled catching up and leaning against him.
Angel let his free arm wrap around him gently, leading him into their room, shutting the door with his foot.
