I'm wondering if "Pat" may be protesting too much, though it could just be the tension that imbues EVERYTHING at that age.
Did you see my post about the anti-homophobia chapter added to the anit-bullying curriculum? There's a local group who wants to recall the school board members that brought it to the board, and it's shocking only in how innocuous it is compared to the brouhaha. Things like And Tango Makes Three and Who's in a Family? are bringing out picket signs that say "Why are you teaching sodomy in our schools?"
Um, no-one mentioned sex until these people did. It's bizarre to me that they can't see that, like any other functional family unit, gay families are about balancing checkbooks, getting everyone to their appointments, cooking dinner, making sure homework is done, playing games, making sure the Netflix goes back, parents talking about when they were kids, etc. The parents' sex lives are just one aspect, and not one with which the children are concerned.
