sunday_reveries prompt 10. Wanda and Cissie are used with permission and love.]
"In the land of memory, the time is always now."
- Stephen King
Maybe they should have waited until Elora was older to introduce her to Wendy the Werewolf Stalker.
And maybe they should have thought about the psychological affects Season Six could have on a magic user.
Elora had asked Wanda eight times if she should stop using magic too. Kon refrained from answering. He didn't really like magic.
But that was nothing compared to when Luella died. Although they'd very quickly explained that Luella was not Aunt Cissie and that was why she was kissing Rowena and not Uncle Bart, Elora still used "Luella" and "Aunt Cissie" interchangeably when talking about the character.
And when Luella died, Elora had shouted "Aunt Cissie, no!" She flew over to the TV and stared at it closely. "Aunt Cissie can't be dead, Daddy!" she shouted. "Tell me Aunt Cissie's not dead!"
Kon paused the television and flew over and wrapped his arms around her. "Hey, hey, it's okay Elora. Aunt Cissie's alive. She's only pretending to be dead."
Elora sniffed. "Like Auntie Steph did?"
"No, it's different. Luella died on the show, but Aunt Cissie isn't really Luella. Aunt Cissie is only pretending to be a dead person."
"No she was shot!" Elora wailed. "Ick's going to go to a funeral and not take me out for ice cream and Aunt Cissie is dead!"
Kon looked over to Wanda and mouthed call Cissie! Wanda grabbed the telephone and dialed quickly.
"Hello?" Cissie said.
"Cissie? It's Wanda. We need you to talk to Elora."
"Me? But-" Wanda had already handed the phone to Elora.
"I don't want to talk on the phone! Aunt Cissie is deeeeeead!" Elora wailed.
"Elora?" Cissie said. "I'm not dead."
"Aunt Cissie?" Elora sniffled. "I saw you die!"
"That wasn't real, honey. Just like how Rowena and I weren't really in love. It's all pretend."
Elora frowned fiercely, than disappeared in a puff of purple smoke. The phone fell to the ground with a clatter.
"Oh, great, she teleported," Kon grumbled. He picked up the phone. "Cissie?"
"Elora's here, yes," Cissie said. "Hold on, I'll call you back, okay?" She clicked off the phone.
Kon sighed. "I hate magic," he grumbled. He put down the phone and slumped down on the couch.
Wanda pouted and sat next to him. She wrapped her arms around him and leaned on his shoulder. "You liked it when I charmed your pants that one time…"
"I'm sorry, sorry, I'll stop complaining about it." Kon rolled his eyes. "But I'll bet Jack never vanishes like this."
Wanda whacked his head. "Of course not."
Before Kon could respond, Elora reappeared, still sniffling a little. "Aunt Cissie's okay. And Ick gave me a cookie."
"Ick knows it's too late at night for cookies!" Wanda said.
Kon put a hand on her arm. "I think maybe this can be the one time only exception, honey. Especially since she already ate it."
Wanda glanced at him, then nodded. "Fine. But you're brushing your teeth again."
Elora scowled. "Can't I just magic them clean?"
"I think we really need to have her see the end of the season," Kon muttered. Wanda hit him again.
"I don't wanna see it," Elora said in a small voice. "I don't like it with Luella dead. She was my favorite."
Wanda hugged her. "You don't have to," she said. "The DVDs will still be here if you ever change your mind."
Kon nodded and knelt to hug both of them. "If you want, we can pretend that Luella came back. You know, like me and Uncle Bart."
Elora sniffled and nodded. "Can we watch the musical episode again instead?"
Kon looked at Wanda. It'd keep her up past her bedtime, but if it would make her feel better… Wanda shrugged a little and nodded.
Kon kissed Elora's forehead. "Sure, Ellie. And we can sing along too."
Elora wiped her eyes and nodded a little. "Good," she said. "I like that episode."
"It's a good one." Kon grinned and flew the three of them back to the couch. He grabbed the remote and changed the episode, then let the music start.
