human_ephemera told me the absolute best thing about Philadelphia while hanging out this weekend.
Apparently there's a homeless dude near the art museum with a battery operated radio. Slip him a few dollars and he'll follow you up the stairs while playing the theme to Rocky.

He kinda smells bad though. And then doesn't leave you alone afterwards. But, by God, it's so worth it- standing on Sylvester Stallone's tiny brass footprints and pumping your fist to the music.

Don't forget that if it is raining, go to the corner of 17th and Arch and look at the statue of Billy Penn on top of City Hall. I looks like he is taking a whiz on the city. Yes, it is immature, but if I am in the city and it is raining and I am remotely close I go to that corner everytime and crack up.

Back in Richmond we had Monument Avenue...basically a bunch of old white dudes on horses. Except for the very end of the road they put up an Arthur Ashe statue. Except it's horrible. If you stand directly in front of it, it looks like he's beating the kids with a tennis racket and they're all crying out in agony.
Oh, and the Jefferson statue at night, from the right angle, looks like he's holding a lightsaber.
