OH GOD.

WHY!?

Normally he would outright refuse due to their latest little event, but for some reason he's already knocking at her front door!]

Hi, Nena! What's up?

WAIT HE KNOWS. He'll just be invading your kitchen for a while and making delicious cabbage rolls. Because... that's totally a comfort food or something.]

Here, try them!

Ah, Adachi-san! I didn't know you were that much of a gentleman.

[ Yeah, she's probably teasing/mocking because that's what she always does. She needs an outlet for being annoyed because of this day. ]

[Not that he'd ever notice in this state. God damn it, Mayfield. Once he finds out, he's going to rage so hard.]

Aha. I'm really not that much of a gentleman, Eva-san. It's just how I was taught. It's a shame most men these days simply aren't able to uphold traditions or even learn basic manners. On the other hand, all women are exceptionally well-mannered and respectful towards everyone. We could all stand to learn a thing or two from strong women like you, Eva-san!

[ w e l p at least this event is entertaining and ego boosting enough to forget for a teensy moment that her son and husband are dead.

She lets out a playful giggle. ] Surely you can't mean that, Adachi-san.. Are you just trying to flatter me?

[Rider would open her still-bleary eyes to find the other members of her “family” hovering around her bed as though they were trying to raise her from the dead. She’d prop herself up a bit, retrieving her glasses from the nightstand and gently placing them just so.]

...Adachi? What are you doing? The spread is quite nice, but you could have called me to breakfast.

Is this macaroni?

[She’d give a quizzical look to the so-called cards and it all became clear. She had to laugh at the mechanics of the whole thing.]

Oh, Mother’s Day? Well, I suppose I’m as close as they’re going to come.
You really didn’t need to go to such trouble, though.

[Well, if she wasn't fully awake by now... this would certainly do the trick. Yeah, Adachi's just going to kiss her like it's nothing. Blame Mayfield's influence.]

Isn't it more fun like this, though? The kids really insisted on a breakfast in bed. They helped, too!

[...The shock made it a little hard to move...or think...or anything. To say she wasn’t expecting such an action would be the understatement of the year.
It might have taken her a full moment for her mind to clear and begin processing logically again.
Something was...off. Adachi was usually less forward. A lot less.
She shuddered. He’s doing things with the drone children. What if the same thing has happened to him?]

Adachi, is something wrong? Are you feeling out of sorts?

[He doesn't really seem to notice her shock. Or maybe the influence makes him not really care. Either way, he'll eventually pull away and push the tray closer to her.]

Not at all, dear! Isn't this customary for families on Mother's Day? Go ahead and eat up. And if there's anything thing else you would like me to do, anything at all, I'll be more than happy to! I love you, Rider.

[Probably followed by the echoing of the kids saying the same, but with 'mommy' instead. D'aaaaw.]
