Silly comic.
I should stop making emo LJ posts. I keep promising that I will and then I make them and then I feel dumb about it.
So, in lieu of an emo LJ post, here's a comic that will make sense to almost none of you!
This is in response to Herodotus 1.196 where he describes "the most ingenious custom" of the Babylonians. For those of you who don't remember your Hum (or, you know, didn't do Hum), according to Herodotus, the Babylonians sold off beautiful wives to the highest bidder. Then, when they finished with the lovely ones, they turned to the shapeless, ugly ones and used the money they'd made to pay men to take them away. During class, Ted began calling these ones "amoebas" because of the Greek word used (which, of course, I can't remember right now). I ran with it and here we go.
