For the first few days (the weepy period) I taped some saran wrap across my back during the night. Then theres nothing to stick to, and I would just clean it and lotion in the morning.
I only have my upper back done [but it's my entire upper back] and when I get work done I try to arrange it for when I'll be off from work for at least two days. During that time I only wear strapless tops/bras and sleep on my stomach. That part isn't very comfy for me but until I feel I'm healed up enough to even shift onto my side I just stick it out

AQUAPHOR- best thing that ever happened to me. It's not cheap, but hey, neither were my tattoos. You can get it at any store in the lotions section. Whenever I get a tattoo, I coat it with aquaphor at night. Then plastic wrap. I'd have someone tape it to my back. Not kidding. Then the tightest shirt I have.
I do this the first week, every night. My tattoos are all super colorful and this method has never done me wrong. People tell me the plastic wrap breeds bacteria... whatever. I wash it first thing every morning. I'm alive, my tattoos all look incredibly bright. You can look at my work and tell which ones I didn't use this method on. Aquaphor saved my sleeve when the ink around my ditch started coming out!
I agree with the Aquphor. I know your supposed to use NO petroleum , but just because any lotion doesnt have it, doesnt mean that lotion should be used. I know first hand. But aquaphor helped with my ditch when I got my half sleeve, and when it was rough around my wrist. It heals and helps.. Also tho, After Inked is AMAZING. its not really expensive and its worth it. Some shops sell certain things too, so you should check that out. As far as sticking, my arm just goo'd everywhere lol didnt really stick. but saran wrap forsure is best so you dont tear scabs off
