This was a perfect story for how Chloe ended up working for Oliver, because I don't really see her applying for a job at Queen Industries herself. It wouldn't fit her character, but this way where Oliver is sort of challenging her into taking the job does.
Excellent work Mandy, I loved the chemisty between them and I can't wait to see what you have in store for us in the sequel..:))
Thanks! Chloe's not a reporter in this universe but you're right, she's still not the type of person who would go after the QI job. But she can't resist a challenge, especially from Oliver. I'm really happy you liked this.
BTW - I haven't forgotten about your prompt. I'm thinking it might end up in this universe too. I *might* have a tiny obsession with it.
Yay me too. Because of this being litteraly an alternative universe to canon(ehh if that makes sense), it's like discovering Chlollie all over again. LOVE IT!
As for the prompt, it's your to take if you want. I'm just glad whenever I see a Chlollie story from you..:)))
This is such a great fic, i could totally see it all happening! its got me even more interested in the ELM universe abd i cant wait for the sequel!!
I absolutely loved this bit, it was so funny!: "He smirked as his eyes met hers across the table again. “I’m sure she would,” he replied cockily. “But I told you, I want a quiet night and she looks like a screamer.” Oliver laughed when Chloe gave him a disgusted look."
Oh My! You're killing me here! I can't wait for that sequel story to be posted! Really I'm dying to see the 1st chapter. Will you post it soon? Have you written it yet? I must say this prequel is absolutely amazing! Their first meeting, well, it was very Chlollie. I love how you catched their characters. All this banter, and Chloe constantly mentioning she wouldn't sleep with him (it says something, huh?).. Congrats, that was really awesome, thanks for posting. Caaaan't wait for the sequel! =)
Aw, don't die! Here's the deal. I don't want to post the first chapter until I finish No More Wishing which is about halfway done. Yes, the first chapter of the sequel is written along with a few scenes for later chapters. (I like to skip around when I write). In the meantime, there will probably be a few more prequel oneshots so hopefully that will help? Seriously, it means a lot that you enjoy this series so much.
I'm really glad you enjoyed their first meeting and yeah, Chloe did mention that quite a bit even though he technically didn't proposition her. Hahah.
Oh, thanks! That would definitely be a pleasant bonus till waiting for the story, I mean all these prequels are just fueling up my interest and they always help to understand current relationshipd between characters better. I'm glad to hear about the state your works are in. I also like No More Wishing very much and will be happy to see the next chapter, too. Good luck with your writing! Thanks for answer, I really feel better knowing about your plans for these stories =)
Love it. :D I'm very, very curious by the sequel. These stories that explain the AU are great. The way they met was very fun and cool. I like to think that began to build something there, happened some sparks between them. His hand brushing against her hand, the smiles, she's always with a smart reply, challenging him and he enjoying the challenge, very good. :) Can't wait for the sequel.:D
Aw, I'm glad you're curious about the sequel and that you're enjoying these other stories in that universe. I'm happy you liked the way they met and there was definitely something between them not that they will acknowledge it at all or anything. Oliver has some growing up to do.
What can I say? I just got SOOOOOO happy reading this!!! I just love this fic version of the AU (I mean, the one Chloe is not dead in that world). I'm so grateful that you decided write their first met. I know the sequel will be the one after the trade, but this 'begin' here is also very interesting. Its funny, because in tehir first met, even there being some signals, and they even smiling to each other, after that Chloe will from dislike him to basically hate him. He will gets worse, to get to the point we got
( ... )
Thank you! I'm glad it made you happy. Yes, when I started this series I purposely didn't set it in the Luthor world we saw on the show because that was just too dark and depressing. You're right, Oliver does get worse and he goes through some low points but Chloe keeps working for him even though everyone despises him. This is part of the reason.
Again, thank you. I wanted people to see that. Yes, they're still Chloe and Oliver but they didn't have the same life experiences so their personalities are not identical to the ones we see in canon. I'm happy you're looking forward to the sequel.
