that was so sweet. So sweet of Oliver to remember Chloe's anniversary and for giving her a gift that would be so dear to her. And he specifically gave it to her on her anniversary.
This Oliver is refreshing to see as we get to know him before who he was in the main series. This gives me an inside look on the man he was before compared to the cynical and burdened man he was when he was switched. I do hope if you are planning a sequel to this series featuring this Ollie and Chloe, that he would go back to this sweet and caring man, who would try to find and make amends with Chloe.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed this. Yes, there is definitely a sweeter side to this Ollie and Chloe is pretty much the only one who gets to see it...but the next story in this prequel series will show how Oliver becomes the man he was in the main story. Then there's one more prequel story and then the sequel which picks up exactly where the other one left off and Oliver being transfered back to his reality. Thanks again for the comments! :)
I know I already said it, but Mandy I absolutely LOVED this.
This one-shot gives such an amazing insight to where these characters are at this point in the universe. I love that Chloe isn't all caught up in Oliver but how the genuine moments that he occasionally has surprises her and shows her that he does have the capability of being kind. And I love how Oliver is in this. Like sure he can be an ass and take off and treat people not exactly nice LOL (referring to the other story not here haha) but being able to catch those glimpses of the person he really is or the person he could be here is just amazing.
The gift was perfect and the fact that he put effort into it shows that even if he doesn't always show it or act like it he really cares about Chloe. *happy sigh* I really really liked this one-shot <3
Aw, I heart you, C. Thanks so much! I'm so grateful that you read this in pieces for me because I had such a hard time with it. I'm so glad you liked the finished product. Ollie is not all bad because he's still Ollie and he does pay attention even if Chloe doesn't (won't) see it. But these two have a long way to go...
I really love this AU world you've created, and this whole prequel series is awesome. I loved the original story that started it off, and I'm glad you gave us the backstory later - in 'Everybody Loves Me' you could see that AU Oliver really trusted his Chloe, and he was really confused and frustrated. He was kind of a jerk, and evidently kind of a screw up, and those imperfections interested me because I really wanted to know how Chloe ended up working for him and how he came to trust her so much.
The backstory continues to set it all up nicely. I confess that I'm dying to know how he ended up married to Tess (gah!) And I absolutely CANNOT WAIT until we catch up to the ELM timeline and AU Oliver gets back to his own world. Just curious - do you know how many prequel stories there will be, and when you might get to the 'current' timeline? Not that I'm rushing you - still thoroughly enjoying what you're giving us! :)
Aw, thank you so much! That makes me really happy. :) This Oliver does make a lot of mistakes but he really does trust Chloe which she doesn't always see until moments like this where she realizes that he is paying attention.
I'm very happy that you're enjoying the backstory. There are two more prequel stories and both of them are more Oliver-centric. You'll see more of what sets him down his dark path and how that changes things with Chloe and you will see more of Tess (sorry). I will start posting the "current" timeline/sequel once those two have been posted and that picks up exactly where ELM left off with Ollie being transported back to his world.
Thank you! There are two more oneshots that come before the sequel to show how Oliver became the person he was in ELM. But if all goes well (if LJ cooperates when I want to post), the sequel will be up before the end of the month.
