Laptop is back finally !!!

Simply put:, my (very small) company has 4 notebooks suitable for nerdy purposes. Mine is usually NOT among those. But, it is the only one with Vista, and my dearest colleagues had a new program needing testing under Vista.
Therefore, my laptop was 'kindly' kidnapped ("don't worry, we won't mess with your settings nor with the registry" they said) ( Read more... )

I don't blame you for not posting with Mr Nosy Geek able to tell what sites you'd visited, etc. I'm happy for you that your have your computer back!

You know what? I had not realized how much I had become addicted to fanfic until I was cut out: it felt like missing a loved one. It's a bit scary, actually. I think I'll have to get a grip and put strong boundaries to my time online.

*hugs back*

They kidnapped your laptop? And you survived?!? Good luck with catching up on everything. I went to New York for a week with extremely limited computer access and no fanfic reading. I am so far behind I don't even know where to begin. It's gonna be fun catching up, though!

>And you survived?!?

Indeed I barely survived during five weeks without it. I found out that I'm under a SSHG spell of sorts these days. So I overworked, I cuddled a little with my beloved Camilleri's and O'Brian's books and I managed to arrange a 3 day trip to Paris beginning of December (business-related, but I should be able to have lots of free time.) All in all, I missed the fandom quite a lot ( ... )

Oh, you're going to Paris! I've never been there, unless you count the couple of hours I spent at the airport once. Friends have sent me the most beautiful pictures from Paris and I hope to finally see it myself someday. I hope you have a lovely time, even if it is a business trip.

I loved New York. I got to see some dear friends who live there and saw 8 Broadway shows and had the most wonderful food! Don't mind the rather rude comments we were making about Daniel Radcliffe's nude scene in EQUUS. It's all in good fun.
