I don't care for celebratory days unless they are intended to draw attention upon an underrated theme. So, all's well with AIDS days, water days, books days, and gay days and women's day and whatever other minority day. But "mother", "father" - what do these "days" mean?

The bridge on the national road connecting Piacenza and the opposite bank of the river Po collapsed at 12.20 - or so they say. Some wounded, but no victims, thanks goodness.

I'm mad. MAD with anger and grief.
Last week we were told - by official sources- there was nothing worrying going on in Abruzzo, where increasing seismic phenomena were experienced since December.
