Somebody tried to mug me in my car after I turned into a road full of cars parked to watch the world cup.

I expect the story will feel very different to my memories of the time and the place, but I'll feel homesick anyway.
Did have a shot of A Bear trying to drive up the M1 out of Joburg and finding that he's the only sober creature on the entire length of highway?

Yeah, we feel homesick for good or bad.

Only sober creature? HAHA! That's kinda funny.... in a bad way.

Lin my sweet ... I have unlocked it for you.

I was on the Affirmative Action committee at work in Johannesburg, which ensured fair treatment of blacks, women, the disabled, etc. I was also the governor of a preschool in which my son was the only white kid.

I personally love Matt Damon ... but this movie was so good, with the accents etc, I forgot who I was looking at.

So yes. I would love for you and your friend to go and see it. The human element is so compelling, and so true to my view of the country at that time.

I had a very cynical South African RAVING about it!

It far surpassed my expectations. Freeman, I knew, would make a brilliant Mandela. Ereneth and I both thought that, so it was great to see it so well done.

Matt Damon was a major surprise. When I heard he was playing Francois Pienaar, I was "NO WAY he can pull it off" but he damn well did!
