BLOODY COMPANIES.

WHY is it that they're so damn quick to take my money every month, and so damn slow to give me a bit of service?

The swearing was at least kept to a minimum but - goddammit, this is where they pull out the 'our staff will not tolerate abuse' card, innit?

Cellphone companies and insurance companies - bad individually, terrible together.

You have a point there, Claymore. Service companies should never join forces! It leads to teh Dark Side....

I was polite but angry. And when Toby said it was a customer services problem, I said well you guys can play the Blame Game as much as you want, but it's MY money we're talking about here!

If that e-mail doesn't work--and it bloody well SHOULD--I'd stop trying to call them and start leaving similar e-mails every couple of days. That puts the problem in writing, which elevates it above a phone problem AND tosses the responsibility back at them. You can also send the same message to customer service and to insurance simultaneously.

I tried this with my own cell phone. It took two detailed e-mails, the last one sent on Tuesday. Yesterday I got a call from a person. The whole problem--one of codes preventing me from getting monthly minutes and which I could not have solved on my end, both because I can't reprogram the codes on my phone and because Safelink Wireless has the worst automated phone system on the planet--was taken care of in five minutes.

I need a "SCIENCE!" icon. Maybe with Dr. Insano's picture.

What the hell, srsly? It takes them five minutes to do that? And they get an automated system to try and do it for them? How lazy have we become!?!?

Also - we have health problems and need our damn phones!

I feel a bit insano myself :p

If that email doesn't work (I imagine it will, I sent a similar one to Sky a month or two back and got great results) use the simple phrase 'I will be taking my business to .

Orange is a good one to threaten, because they are renowned within the industry for their customer service.

I'd like to stay with O2, as my godson's mum is an assistant branch manager and she helps with stuff like this. She's been away though. I spoke to her yesterday and she offered to help me with it and I said let's first see if they answer my email....

I said threaten them.. you don't actually think I had any intention of moving to Virgin when I was threatening Sky, do you?

The point is not to actually move, it's to make them believe you will.
