So I guess this is the last time I'll be using this icon! In case anyone missed it, the Habs shipped Mike Cammallieri back to the Flames. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GAME. Oh Pierre Gauthier, you so crazy.

In return we're getting Rene Bourque, some AHL guy, and a 2nd rounder.

WHAT IS HAPPENING TO THIS TEAM THIS SEASON.

He never came out for the 3rd, so you think, okay, injured. Until the commentators start talking about a trade....

At least we get Bourque and not Matt Stajan. Dodged a bullet there.

Apparently they told the coach just before the third period. I don't know if they told the team, but I assume they would notice that he wasn't there. I would imagine it would throw you off, but I guess that's why they get paid the big bucks?

That seems to be what the pundits are saying too, happily. I'll have to do a little research when I have time.

The prospect is in the W and the pick is in 2013, so the part of me that wants the Habs to be good at hockey RIGHT NOW is like "wahhhh that is in the futurrrrrrrre."

ALSO I have an irrational hate-on for René Bourque. Like, I consider him to be my least favourite hockey player. I guess now I get to find out how much of that hate comes from the uniform! :/

I was actually happy about that part. My biggest fear was that they were going to go for guys that will help us be mediocre now rather than genuinely good a few years from now. If we're going to suck for a season, okay, let's suck and deal with some stuff. I would rather that than piecemeal crap to have us always hovering around 8th in the east. But instead that's what Feaster did. Ha. Good luck with that Calgary.

Heh. Yeah, I can't say that I was like "ooh, yay! Rene Bourque!" But at least he's big. I'm okay with it if he will go to the net and protect our smurfs.

That would have been amaaaaaazing. I would have done it in a heartbeat if the trade had been Cammy for Dougie Hamilton. (AND GREAT LULZ.)
