Some people are SO. IGNORANT. I cannot even handle it. This girl that I went to highschool with (Janette Nadon-Janelle you know her) friended me on facebook and myspace. Right away I could tell that she didn't seem very educated and she seemed a little like she had turned into a Bible thumper. But I figured I would be nice and friend her back ( Read more... )

She friended me too, and continued to ask how I was doing and how my beau was...as if she knew us, and was great friends with me before...

When we know that both are definitely not the case. I definitely barely knew her in HS. Ugh.

good luck! also, i loved this entry! I totalyl understand what you are saying about bible nazis. They just dont know when to stop. I had a youth minister once tell em that I was baptized wrong and if I ever wanted to get baptized the right way to come see him.

You should have responded "I don't know. How can you be both a bitch and a christian at the same time?"

Seriously though. I prefer to think of myself as more into Zen rather than Buddhist. It's more of a philosophy than a religion. And seriously, there are a lot of similarities between Christianity and EVERY OTHER MAJOR ORGANIZED RELIGION OUT THERE. Does she think that God, in his infinite wisdom, ignored a whole continent of people for 1500 years after Christ died? Or did Jesus only die for the sins of white people? Perhaps, God revealed himself to humanity there on a seperate occasion (after all, this christian god has revealed himself to the Arabs, the Jews, the Phoenecians, the Canaanites, all the way back to Adam and Eve) and whoever was there just interpreted it differently? I mean, the rest of those people certainly had different interpretations of it. Such Ignorance.
