I don't use iJournal any more (I'm using Xjournal) but I know when I have password issues with other applications I find that if I trash the respective applications .plist (found in 'Library'), empty the trash and relaunch the application again (after re-entering the correct password) the application usually works fine again.

The spell check issue I'm not sure about, it could be that it can't find a dictionary to use as a database.

Love that you're listening to Iron & Wine, BTW.

Aha, thank you! I've got the password thing working now, and the spellcheck was just me not finding the right options, whoops!

In the Spelling submenu under the Edit menu, make sure "Check spelling while typing" is checked. You can also check spelling from the same menu after you've written your text.

Heh, there it is. I guess I was looking under "Preferences…" instead of "Edit." Whoops! I've got it working now, though, so thanks a bunch!

You might also want to look at your password listings in Keychain Access in the Utilities folder and delete the entry with the wrong/old password.

Actually, I think I remember having to do this for iJournal once when I changed my LJ password. It would NOT switch to the new one.
