I haven't posted in a really long time, so I suppose it's time. Hello! How are you? I'm kind of having a blast around here. My classes are pretty awesome, and my print classes are going well (except fot the computer. I hate working on the computer. Digital print would do really well to go eat a dick. I'm serious about this.)

I'm also involved in a really interesting social project right now. It started with my friend Sondra Perry having us sit in a circle and say the word "nigger" to eachother for as long as we could (the idea being to see if we could eventually lose it's meaning), and after discussing it for 5 straight hours, we're turning it into a huge-scale project that we're taking all over campus, and perhaps even bringing it farther. A big part of the experiment is to see how people are going to react to it, and encouraging them to examine their reactions. Like you. As soon as you saw the word "nigger," what was your reaction? Did you immediately make a judgement about the project? Was it a negative one? Why? These days people, especially really liberal people, immediately shut down when they hear or see the word. We don't even want to acknowledge that it's a word. We're still figuring out exactly where we're going with it, but for the time being it's just a social experiment to force people to really look at the importance of loaded words like that, and I think we could do pretty big things with it. I'm really excited about the possibilites.
