You've been experiencing the strange shoulder pains too?

Yes I have.

Do you think it might just be a coincidence?

No. I think it's something more than that, Hiroshi. You, Genichirou and I having shoulder pains at the same exact time cannot just be a coincidence. There must be something, or someone, behind this.

Have you tried putting a heating pad on it? That usually works when I get hurt.

I have tried many remedies to alleviate my shoulder pain; none of them have worked.

Huh, weird. I hope you get better soon! Busted shoulders really suck, especially for people who play sports.

Yes, I do find it quite strange.

Ah, thank you for the wish! I hope so too.

How much rotator cuff strengthening exercises does your team do? I'd rule out the obvious before I started looking at anything else.

Sanada-san, especially, works at high speed with those pitching machines. That puts a huge amount of stress on the shoulders.

Painkillers don't help much once you blow a shoulder.

Our team does alot of various strength-training exercises, though I don't think that that would be a cause to the strange shoulder pains.

I meant as a preventative.

Also, we don't use wrist or shoulder weights when playing. For one, it screws with your timing. Second, they add stress to the joints. We concentrate on strength building during our normal workouts instead.

^_^ Bet you'd never suspect I'm interested in sports med, huh? (I want to be either a veterinarian or a doctor--assuming I don't turn pro. Even then, I think I'll continue with my studies as much as I can.)

Ah. Sorry for the confusion.

I usually think that the wrist and shoulder weights help you when you play, so that when you take them off, you feel lighter and faster. However, I do believe that the weights can add stress if you overuse them.

Hmm. I actually never thought you were interested in sports med.

Yes? Have you experienced any shoulder pains lately, Akaya?

No...

If you guys've, like. Hurt yourselves bad enough to make you stop playing tennis, I'll kill you!

That's good to hear.

Of course I won't quit tennis for such a trivial reason! I'm sure the pain will go away soon.
