I'm... not exactly sure how to address this yet, but I'm going to try.

My name is Mikado Ryugamine. It's been less than a week since I arrived here. And-- I want answers.

I read the information given to me by "witchoftheweek" as thoroughly and carefully as I could. Several times. It was very helpful, but there were also many things unsaid ( Read more... )

purpose, constantly evolving, an unwitting leader of men, making the best of it

"Scientist" may be their informal title, but it is not one they have chosen. Which is just as well; they are rather poor at their job. As for their reasons for assembling these subjects, they seem unwilling to offer that information.

Have you talked to one, then?

I have. She was rather unhelpful, though her silence was revealing in other ways.

So she didn't say much...

What were you able to gather, then?

A young woman sent me this guide. I'm not sure what help it would provide to you given those questions, but it may answer some.

Also, I hope you don't mind my monitoring this feed for my own reference. I'm attempting to gather information pertaining questions such as these.

I read that as well... It had some good information, but didn't explain everything.

Please, by all means. Is there any sort of information network in this city as it is?

I'm not entirely sure. There's a massive gap when it comes to matters of actually living here. What monsters are edible, what organizations are available to the public, natural disasters, so on so forth. An index would be forever helpful to the city, I'm sure.

I was able to conclude some of those things from links attached to the file that woman sent me, but...

With these devices all connected like they are, it shouldn't be that difficult. Right?

I apologize. I do not believe you will receive many straightforward answers, as no one seems to quite understand, themselves.

...I see.

Well, it was worth a try. I saw that there are people who have been here for a very long time, so I thought they might know something more than what had been written down.

Eh?

Oh, no! Don't worry about it. It's not your fault.

I'm alright. I'm staying at Horton, room 206.

[...] You don't want to go home?

Oh, so you're in the other building... [Aww.]

...I would like to go home. But it doesn't seem like there's any way back.

[Yes, he's determined this from the time he got here until now. Boy's been busy.]

[ Did that make him feel bad... ] I can visit.

Then we will have to make to make the most of our time here. [...] If you find any information about the chips, please tell me... if that is alright.

O-of course! [Aww geez, did I sound too bummed?] We can still meet up.

I can. [He's been looking into it already, as there's been such a fuss over the comms.] It seems like one of these Scientists have left clues as to it's location. I don't know what they are, though.

I've been here for more than three and I'm still trying to figure those things out myself.

I'm beginning to get the feeling no one knows.

Che. Looks like it. I'd worry more about "surviving" in the meantime if I were you.

That is another one of my worries... I'm not used to this environment at all.
