Recently, Tanaka Koki has been hooked into detective stories. He would always praise every detective drama he watched, and how writers could think of those unbelievable tricks. There was even one time when he bumped into Nishikido Ryo, he told him how much he was amazed with his previous drama, JOKER plus he’d brag of how the title connected to his known pen name. The people in KAT-TUN's dressing room were getting tired of hearing of his mystery stories, but there is always one person who always listens to him, Nakamaru Yuichi.
The rehearsals ended unexpectedly early. Kame and Ueda headed out first since they've brought their cars with them. Junno, Yuichi and Koki decided to walk home since they weren’t really exhausted that time.
"Hey! Have both of you watched Sherlock Holmes?" Koki suddenly talked. He suggested the movie before to the group.
"Ah! I almost forgot. There's this new game that is going to be released. I've gotta go and check it out for a bit." Junno said and parted with his two friends. Yuichi wanted to smack the other on the spot, but he just doesn’t want to disappoint Koki that time.
As the two were left, they continued to walk together. "So, have you watched it?" Koki asked again.
Yuichi nodded and smiled at Koki's questioning look. "I don't remember any story of such from the book, but it was still good."
"Yes, and the risk they had of choosing Watson's role! He was supposed to be fat, right?" Koki was totally into the conversation.
Yuichi nodded and they continued their walk while talking some more about Sherlock Holmes. They reached a park, and they saw a little girl crying silently at the entrance. And Koki being an onichan approached the girl.
"Hey. What's wrong?" He asked while patting the girl's head.
"Conan is lost." The girl answered with eyes swollen and red nose.
"Is Conan a friend of yours? Why don't we, onichans, help you find him?" Koki smiled. The girl wiped her tears and smiled back.
Yuichi was staring at them. He knew that Koki was always soft-hearted with kids. So, there's no choice but to look for the kid called Conan, now. Yuichi approached the two and smiled at the girl. "By the way, what's your name?"
"Ah! I forgot! I am Kogoru Ran. Yoroshiku onegaishimasu!" She introduced herself and bowed.
"You are well brought up." Koki patted her head again. "I am Tanaka Koki and this other onichan is Nakamaru Yuichi."
“And you, don’t grow up like this Onichan.” Yuichi pointed at Koki and laughed a little and it only made him receive a whack on his head.
Ran was sort of out of place since the two were already like having a world of their own, but she won’t realize that since she’s supposed to be a kid. She just stared at the two big brothers. "Un. Yuichi-nichan and Koki-nichan." She reviewed and both nodded.
"It's almost sunset, so let's start looking for your friend, alright?" Koki stood up and reached out a hand to Ran.
Ran held the hand and she reached the other hand to Yuichi. The latter was quite surprised, but ended up holding the little hand as well. They looked like a family.
"So, where did you lost him?" Koki turned to Ran.
"He was reading a book at the bench, and I went to buy us something to eat, but when I came back, he wasn't there already. I've asked the people near the bench, but they said they didn't notice him." Ran explained on the verge of crying again.
Koki patted the little girl, "Don't cry now. We'll surely find him. I am an Onichan who is a detective." He grinned, he turned to Yuichi, "and he is my assistant."
Yuichi wanted to argue, but heck, what else could he do? His friend wants to play the Sherlock Holmes, while he gets the 'assistant' role only.
Koki continued to comfort Ran, and he noticed little footmarks that were on the way to the little forest behind the bench. He followed the footmarks alone, until he saw a little guy sleeping under the bushes.
"Ran-chan, Detective Tanaka Koki has found your friend." Koki called out.
Ran went closer and saw Conan who was lying down with his book on his face. He was peacefully sleeping until someone kicked him.
"Itai!" Conan cried. He saw the pissed face of his friend, but all he could do was smile awkwardly.
“Hey Conan-kun, Ran-chan has been looking all over for you.” Yuichi interrupted.
“Ah. You have a big nose.” Conan said when he turned to the person who was talking.
Yuichi could only cover his nose, while Koki was doing his best to stop from bursting of laughter. The former sort of glared at him.
“Yuichi-nichan, forgive him for being such brat.” Ran apologized for his friend.
“Oi. I’m not a brat.” Conan said, but Ran pinched him and forced him to bow.
“Thank you for helping us. We’ll go home now.” Ran smiled at the two and walked off.
“Ne! Are those two dating?” Yuichi heard Conan whispering to Ran.
“It’s none of your business. Let’s hurry up. Otousan has nothing to eat.” Ran held Conan’s hand and ran off while waving to Yuichi and Koki.
“That brat is too observant.” Yuichi whispered to himself.
“So...” Koki interrupted Yuichi’s thoughts. When Yuichi turned to him, he was grinning like an idiot. “I was awesome, right?”
“Yeah, sure.” Yuichi sarcastically said when he realized that the other was talking about the ‘detective’ skills thing.
“Eh? But I’ve found out where he was. And I’ve also noticed from the drama that I’ve been watching, I could always figure out the culprit even before they reveal it.” Koki whined, not trying to give up the detective role, but he only found Yuichi walking ahead. “Mou~ Yuichi~!!! I could actually be the best detective here.” He ran to him, but he almost slipped, only to be caught by Yuichi.
Yuichi smiled at him. “How can you be a detective when you can’t even figure out my feelings?”
Koki blinked at him for a couple of seconds. It was supposed to be awkward for Yuichi, but Koki chuckled. “Yeah, I love you, too.”
“EEEEHHHHH?!!” Yuichi shouted and he lost of hold of Koki which made him fall head down.
“Fuck you. Why’d you let go of me, you piece of crap.” Koki angrily said. “And yes, I told you, I love you, you bastard.”
It surprised Yuichi, but he helped Koki stand up when he just realize what he did. He smiled at Koki as he offered his hand. When Koki took it, Yuichi grinned at him and did not let go of it.
“Tss.” Koki hissed, but didn’t argue even more and they walked out of the park while holding hands.
“You are an awesome detective Tanaka Koki. I love you.” Yuichi said when they exited the park and finally stole his first kiss from Koki. The latter blushed and they continued walking home.
