Koki was staring at the window of the taxi, on his way to a special occasion, wearing the best attire in his entire wardrobe. He reached his destination where there was a beach, where a wedding was going to take place.
“Yo Koki!” Someone greeted him. When he turned to look, it was Kame with a tux. Koki smiled a bit, and they headed in together.
There weren’t really much people around, only friends and families. Koki greeted every person he knew with the best smile he had. He found his friend standing in the middle and Koki approached him. They shared few stories, until suddenly the song played. The bride was getting on her entrance. As all of the eyes were on the bride, one person was staring at the groom. Koki could see his friend’s face beside him... the one who was getting married, his former lover, Yuichi.
“Are you sure you can do that, Koki?” Yuichi asked him.
Koki only laughed at him. “Seriously, Yuichi, what we had was history. And besides, you don’t have much friends, I am the perfect best man for your wedding.”
“Idiot. There’s the rest of the band, you know, but if you insist.”
The occasion was getting livelier, but Koki was sitting alone on the table. Suddenly, a cold can poked his cheek, and he saw Yuichi. Koki smiled and took the can of cola and whispered his thanks softly.
“Ne... Koki, thank you very much. I wasn’t really planning on inviting you, since you know... the past.” Yuichi said with his eyes staring at the people across them.
Koki won’t deny that he was hurting at every word the other has said, but he didn’t want to show it to the other, and so he smiled. “I still remained as your friend, as your best bud, I wish nothing but the best for you. And you have found it...” He pointed at the group of girls who was sitting across them.
Koki stood up, and Yuichi turned to him. He saw Koki smiling brightly at him. “Just... don’t forget that we had in the past was real!” He waved and left the wedding. “I’d be the happiest, if I find someone like you in the future.” He spoke to himself and took off.
