Yoko is probably the most level-headed person in the group. As such, she is the one who tries to keep everyone in check even though that seems like a task that Kamina could never accomplish. Even if her efforts are sometimes futile, it doesn't mean that she will not try to get her point across when the time calls for it.
She is independent and could fend for herself pretty well. Even before she met up with Kamina and Simon in Jiiha Village, she was already fighting against Ganmen and Beastmen on her own. Despite Kamina's advances on her when she first arrives, she is able to keep her head in the game and her eye on the target... at least until Kamina got in the way of her shot.
Although she seems rather rough around the edges, Yoko cares very deeply for her friends. She does not want any of them to get hurt and really doesn't mind scolding them over the headsets during the battle or after the battle itself. She also has this motherly air around her which may have been brought about being in a group that consists of mostly men. She is also not one to withhold compliments or word of encouragement towards her teammates and friends.
She is strong-willed but not reckless. Yoko has her own values that she sticks to even if their leader likes to face things head-on. Her first priority was to protect Ritona Village but after learning of the possibility of destroying the main source of their problems by targeting the Beastman's lair itself, she goes off with Kamina and Simon on their journey.
Yoko is rather short-tempered and does not like being teased. This trait however only seems to come out when Kamina pushes her buttons. At first she may retaliate with her own words as well but when she is pushed over the limit, she has no qualms in using her rifle to speak in her stead.
Basically, Yoko has a very fiery personality. She does not mind getting down and dirty when necessary and would do anything that the men do, given the resources and situation.

She uses an electric rifle to fend for herself in battle thus could help in the team's attack whether offensively or defensively. The cartridges in her rifle could be switched for various means as seen whenever she goes hunting where she switches out her bullets for arrows to track down prey that would serve as their next meal.
She also seems quite knowledgeable about small firearms that come from Ritona village.
When she gets angry enough, she could deal a pretty good punch and kick if her rifle isn't within arm's length. She seems to reserve her punches for Kamina and his relentless teasing though.
