so today i was feeling kind of crappy for most of the day, but i still managed to make it to my first two classes. in my second class we finished out discussion of our reading a little early, so my professor brought the discussion to english majors. the class is mostly english majors, so she was asking why people chose that and how they defended ( Read more... )

yeah, well for every person who said "omg, I love this, it's so great for the world, blah blah blah" there was definitely atleast one person A) rolling their eyes or B) who had the same feeling you have.

so you haven't found your passion yet. it's not a big deal. most people our age haven't figured it out, and the ones that have are really lucky. i mean, i think i've found mine, and i realize that i'm really lucky for knowing what i want to do with the rest of my life and the steps i have to take to do it. but you'll figure out what you were meant to do, and it'll happen soon, i'm sure. tons of people don't even realize what they want to do with their lives until they're middle aged. but that won't be you. we both know that.

chris, seriously, just take your time to figure out what you want to do, that way when you decide, you'll know for sure. honestly, most people in college are just going through the motions to please someone else and picking a major to please their parents. you're taking the time to figure out your passion. it's okay. it's more than okay, it's normal. just take as wide a variety of classes as you can so you get a taste of everything and decide what you like best. trust me, you aren't alone. and i'm always here for you if you want to talk, you know that.
