On number 9...yay for our national exports pleasing overseas people! I didn't even know it was picked up anywhere outside Aus! Shane Bourne is a brilliant actor, in fact the whole cast is made up of great "we work in Australia because we love the roles we can get here" people. Great acting IMO. Love it too!

Also, #3....I COMPLETELY AGREE ENTIRELY!

Actually, as far as I know it's not picked up anywhere. I just happen to stumble upon it on the Internet (it was a first season episode, which means I'm more likely to pick it up unrecommended unlike a random episode from a different season), watched it, and really enjoyed it.

I don't know much about Australian television, but I'd like to start watching recommendations for home-grown shows that are high quality, like City Homicide.

I can't wait to see the two of them on screen together. Need more multi-Doctor stories!

Hmm, well if you like that sort of show, there's Stingers, which is about the workings of undercover police, but that ended in 2004. Water Rats was great too, it was based around the Sydney Water Police, and starred Colin Freils in the first few seasons (the ones with him in them were the best).

Then of course there is the brilliantSummer Heights High and We Can Be Heroes. They are two of the best comedies made in Australia in a long time, all the main characters are played by this one guy, Chris Lilley. I can't even think of any other shows that rival it in quality, save for maybe The Office.

Yay for Aus TV!

I so wish I could afford the Absolute Sandmans. They're so out of my budget range it's silly. Oh well.

Nice list!

Thank you! I am collecting the Absolutes, mostly because of the improved quality of the artwork. Plus, they are much cheaper than purchasing the individual graphic novels (although I have almost all of them, plus some individual issues from when I read them monthly; my collection is spotty). Right now, they are running about 30% off from online retailers. Not too bad. I don't expect them to appreciate in value as time goes on, so I'm sure that when the full series is out, you'll be able to get them really discounted.

Yeah. I know they're lovely; I've seen the first one. :) But they're hideously expensive - much more so that the TBPs actually, at least in this country - and I live below the breadline these days.

I have all the original comics as I collected them as they came out. I also have most of the TPBs and quite a bit of collectors stuff -- the advantage of working in comics retail at the time Neil was writing the series. My boss gave me the signed platinum edition of the P. Craig Russel illustrated #50 for one of my birthdays, for instance. :)

My prize possession in this line has to be my complete set of the Sandman trading cards in their binder. It includes all the promo and chase cards, and also all the Sandman related promo, chase and set cards from the Vertigo series. It worth quite a few hundred now.

Really? Wow. Hopefully they'll come down in price and you'll go up in salary and someday the twain shall meet.

WOW. That's... *speechless*
I love P. Craig Russell! SO MUCH! I can't wait to get my hands on his Coraline.

I never worked retail; I'd be utter crap at it, given my social skills and my temperament towards others. Hee hee.

TMBG MAKES FOR EXCELLENT ROAD TRIP MUSIC. Singing aloud is DEFINITELY mandatory.

I haven't watched Numb3rs in a while, but I might have to go and hunt down that episode. Wil is cool.

I'm so tickled by your squee for yarn. It makes me want to know more about sock-knitting.

Hee! Robert Englund. I had a thing for him back in the day. He's always a kick to watch, because he's fully thrown himself into the role of B-movie villain actor.

The only worry I have about TMBG music for driving is that the bouncier pieces make me accelerate. Hee hee. I need to sit down and make tons of Pushing Daisies/They Might Be Giants icons.

I'm not sure when the Numb3rs episode will be shown. It was filmed last week, so I presume it will be shown in 2 months or so.

Sock knitting is really fun, relaxing. Plus, it makes me feel less guilty about watching so much television, since I knit while I watch. Do you knit? It's really quite easy to learn and I've met a number of really cool folks through knitting. It's a very tactile and visual hobby to have. See the pretty colors!

I had such a thing for Robert Englund, starting with V. He's so cute in that! And then in high school, I fell even harder for him as Blackie in Nightmare Cafe, which didn't last very long. (I gained a crush on Jack Coleman from that show, too.)

No, I'm not a knitter, but my future mom-in-law is and she made me socks once. Not sure what kind of yarn it was, but they were not terribly comfy. But they were very pretty and I appreciated the gesture.

Hee, I almost forgot he was in V! Aww, he was so cute back then. No hint of the creepy madman to come. I've never seen Nightmare Cafe, but it sounds interesting.

I'm jealous of the Socks that Rock membership. I love the pretty sock yarn so much. I'm currently making two socks at once on a circular, a feat of logistics that I find to be quite impressive.

On Veronica Mars, please do do do watch it. I heard people liked it and I recently rented it from Netflix. After I watched the first four episodes all in a row I went in and moved the rest of the series, and season 2, and season 3, to the top of my queue. I love this show so much.

I haven't tried the two-socks-at-once yet. I actually prefer doing one at a time, just because I like how quick one sock goes and then I can take a breather. I'm not sure if I'm going to go for membership next year. There's a number of other sock yarn clubs that I want to try.

It sounds like I'll start from episode one for Veronica Mars. I am really intrigued by her character in Heroes, so now I do what I always do with performers that intrigue me: I indulge in watching more of their other works.
