Doctor Who, Season 4, Episode 1 - Partners in Crime

Donna is so beautiful and I love how fierce she looks.

I'm not sure how I feel about this first episode with a theme about "fat" pill. I get the impression that the less than positive-about-Donna elements of fandom will make snarky remarks about it, and that makes me a bit sad. I find it amusing that there aren't all thin people saying that they "represent Adipose Industries".

I love how the Doctor and Donna were on the same mission. Right away, Donna reminds me of Sarah Jane Smith. I think this is a wonderful thing. This is a huge plus for me: a companion that off the mark is Doing Something, even if that Doing Something has the motive of finding the Doctor.

The adipose creatures looked like they walked out of *Tonari no Totoro (My Neighbor Totoro)*. And I would totally freak out if something like that happened to me. COMPLETE and UTTER freakout.

(I love Donna's red hair. I want hair like that, oh man.)

LOL, Donna and... her mum? I really like Donna's grand-dad. You can tell that her experiences with the Doctor has made her look outward and see those amazing things that the universe holds. This is not the Donna at the beginning of "The Runaway Bride", this is a much more complex and interesting character. I really hope to see more of Donna's grandad. They have an interesting relationship.

To the Doctor: this particular Doctor seems rather on the chatty side, and I think that emphasizes his loneliness when he doesn't travel with someone (that scene by himself in the TARDIS examining the technology, for instance). And man, his hair! No one has hair like David Tennant (I became keenly aware of it when he was going down the side of the building on the gondola).

The scene where the Doctor sees Donna is freaking hilarious! "Are we interrupting?" HAH! Their reunion when they hug made my heart totally leap. And then that talented Catherine Tate delivering a delightful zinger about his clothing, hee hee! Just like old times, indeed.

Yay, a baddie with a sonic screwdriver too. WHEE!

OMG, this episode has been funnier than a lot of other episodes in the past. This is so exciting, to have such a comedic talent as a partner. If this is the opener, I am looking forward to further episodes.

Oh, and Rose... VERY spooky. I don't know what it means, but I do know that I'll be looking for hints throughout this season.
