If you would have told me 2 weeks ago that because I am not eating breakfast I am messing up my metabalism, not filling myself with that much needed early morning energy, or balancing my diet I would have turned up my nose and blew you off as I had for decades before. I finally got Nick to swallow down a Bear Naked granola bar and banana in the car on the way to work, although the oatmeal (or anything that couldn't be eaten in a car) would still be a hard sell.
In a sign of oatmeal-eating solidarity, may I offer my favorite (and nutrient-packed) oatmeal mixins:
1) Oatmeal, blueberries, vanilla protein power, skim milk
2) Oatmeal, banana, peanut butter, skim milk
3) Oatmeal, canned pumpkin, Splenda, cinnamon
4) Oatmeal, strawberries, 1T strawberry jelly/jam, vanilla protein powder, water
5) Oatmeal, thinly sliced apples, Yoplait Light apple-cinnamon yogurt, cinnamon, water (if too thick for your taste)
