I will give you five words that remind me of you
Post them in your LJ and explain what they mean to you.
stolenxsanity gave me the following words.
Rob, Texas, Country Music, Writing, (Your) Bella
Rob
Where do I begin? Rob Pattinson is, in every sense of the word, my ideal man, looks wise. He’s gorgeous and thin and tall and … a little dirty. What can I say? I like my celebrity hobos. His hair seems to be at odds with gravity and over all of that, he’s British. Pardon me as I die. Rob literally personifies sex, imo, and the fact that he’s a nerd only drives that fact home further. In the words of Lafayette from True Blood ... 'That boy is sex on a stick.' As for his portrayal of Edward … I think that he’s perfect. Though I did have issues with the pacing of Twilight the Movie, (Also Catherine Hardwicke, why couldn’t you show Edward as happy? He wasn’t emo all the time, you know!), I enjoyed his performance as Edward.
Hell, I’d enjoy him any which way.
Texas
I’ve lived here all of my life, and it probably should mean more to me than it does. It’s grossly hot during the summers, insanely cold (comparatively) during the (very short) winters we have and I’m 100% convinced that Austin is the only city that is worthwhile to live in. Sure. Visit San Antonio or Dallas. But I can almost promise that you’ll want to return to Austin. It’s just that cool. Texas is home for me, though, so despite the stupid weather, I do love it here. It is always a relief to set foot on the ground here in Austin upon my return from a trip.
Country Music
Oddly enough, I am a country music snob. I suppose I’m a music snob in general, but really, country music has it the worst. There’s a short list of artists whose work I enjoy regardless. That list is: Brad Paisley, Sara Evans, Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, Taylor Swift, Reba McEntire and probably most importantly, Johnny Motherfucking Cash. The Man in Black owns a little piece of my heart. There are probably a few other artists that I’m not thinking of, but those are the brunt of the list. Country music reminds me of my childhood always, and running wild along the roads I grew up around. Small town life’s not so bad, really.
Writing
Oh dear. Yet again, I’m at a loss regarding where to begin.
Writing is such a huge part of my life. When I think back to my younger years, there are two constants: Music and Writing. My love affair with writing began when I was thirteen and wrote my first poem. It was terrible and rhyming and all around ridiculous, but it was the start of something … dare I say magical? Initially, I wrote poetry, chronicling the things that elicited a response from me. To date, I have a file that contains nearly 200 poems, all complete, and hand written, as they are from the days before I had a computer. Then I began with prose. Then fiction. And today, writing is more than a hobby. It is my dream, in more ways than one, and honestly, I probably have Stephenie Meyer to thank for that. When I was younger, I wrote constantly, and then … I lost my muse. I don’t know where the hell it went, but it was gone. I read Twilight and the characters were so fantastic to me, I couldn’t help but want them to be real, want to know everything there is to know about them. And then, as I was musing on that, and what kind of characters I would be drawn to, the idea for Alex Hobbes, the main character in my work of original fiction, came to me. So, folks can say what they want about SM’s writing or plot holes or her insane decision to halt production of Midnight Sun. Her characters own a little bit of all of us because they are just that amazing. And because of that, I relocated my muse and as they say … the rest is history.
My Bella
This one is quite simple, really.
She is the be all, end all of my existence. She is the reason I wake up, the reason I am actively seeking employment, the reason I breathe.
She is everything good, even on her bad days, in the form of one adorable, gorgeous little girl, and I am a lucky woman to have the responsibility to raise her.
