[RL with Jezebel] [Backdated]

Radu opened his eyes.

It was a strange feeling, to open his eyes, to move, to do anything without being commanded to do it by an outside force. There had been many times over the last couple of months when he had simply lain for hours or days, unable to move, because his master Dietrich's will had commanded it and then his attention had wandered ( Read more... )

Jezebel was striding towards his laboratory as quickly as he could without drawing attention to himself. He had woken up that morning with bite marks on his skin and the dawning horror that he had spent the last week deluding himself into thinking he was married, to a vampire, that they had spent time beneath his laboratory intimately. The thought of how he'd spent those days made him shudder in horror.

He had to make sure that everything had returned to normal. If all was well, Radu would have been returned to his own world, and the basement room attached to his laboratory would be nothing more than storage space.

Stalking into the lab, he shut the door behind him only to turn to see a familiar figure emerging from the basement room.

Radu instantly recognized the human who entered the laboratory where he'd found himself. His eyes narrowed and he closed the door to the basement room, his arms folding across his chest.

He spread his lips in a deliberately menacing smile, fangs prominant.

"Well, hello 'beloved'," he murmured. "Coming to see if I was still here?"

There had been no other way to interpret the look on Jezebel's face when he saw him.

Jezebel's eyes narrowed. So, his 'husband' was still there. Wonderful. At least there was no one else in Delilah who knew he was there, as far as he knew. He had no intentions of trying to explain the community or its viruses and being thrown into Bedlam for it.

"Yes, as a matter of fact," he said. He leaned on the door, glancing around the laboratory; what had once been in the storage room was now in the lab, which meant Radu's little hiding hole must still be as it was during the virus. "Why are you still here?"

"You ask me that as if I should know," Radu said, brushing back a lock of too-long hair and then leaning against the door in a casual manner.

He wasn't in the least bit intimidated by this man, of course. He was just a bit...perturbed overall at being so far from home in the middle of a human city.

"I suppose the community didn't bother to put me back in hell after it was done with me, which I can only be grateful for. But I apologize for imposing too long upon your hospitality," he added, with a trace of sarcasm.

He wondered if Jezebel would even know what he meant. Probably not. In his odd double-memory, he recalled that in the version where he was married to Jezebel, it had been the doctor who somehow rescued him and nursed him back to health, and Dietrich had never had a chance to put Radu under his spell.
