yesss. I think she's one of the best out there, manages to put so many things which relate ~adultly, but still easy enough for small people to read. The Alanna series is her best, I think, but I think the Magic Quartet is pretty good too.
and it's nice to be able to read a wonderful book in a few hours :D
i'll have get hold of one. my auntie who i'm living with in england has really good taste in books in general but unfortunately she's not really into fantasy so i've been a bit starved of it. i agree about the joy of reading a good book in a short time - eg on the jellicoe road. i dislike everything else by melina marchetta but that book, i just can't get enough of it but it's like impossible to read it in more than a weekend. i even brought it to the uk, that's how much i love it haha i haven't dared read it yet though, because it reminds me of all my best friends who also adore it (one in particular with whom i squeed about it in her car for like two hours in the middle of the night once lol) and i think reading it will possibly make me really homesick... lol
