Some people would take issue with calling Star Trek a "real IMAX" movie, due to the film format it was filmed in not being true IMAX film. (Most studio films that are shown in IMAX were not filmed in IMAX - most science-museum-documentary IMAX movies were filmed on the giant IMAX film). The difference is subtle.
I am not one of these people, but I know of them. Giant movies are giant.
That's more about IMAX films than I ever knew :-) Actually the only reason I called it a "real IMAX" movie is that I've seen giant movies before, but they were so long ago I couldn't remember if they were IMAX or not. All I can recall is that they made me feel like the theater was moving....
