I think too many people share things for comment too late in the process, once they've gotten attached to the product rather than while they still consider it a draft, so they aren't receptive anymore.
It depends on my mood and how open I am to comments, of course. Assuming they are useful comments, there are times when I want to keep my own wording (I despise wordsmithing and tend to have a light editorial pen as a result). I try to be open to other views at all times and it mostly works. When I worked in a formal analysis role, I loved nothing better than to have a discussion about alternative points of view and ways to describe things. I still get to have that kind of interesting debate around evaluation questions, but otherwise it's rare.
