I found my post from last September about fundraising ideas.  I'm brainstorming some things for a Festival/Faire type event that is intended to raise money for a specific cause

One of the expenses you'd need to consider is the intrusion of the real world. The province or city (depending on the size of the prize and a few other criteria) requires licencing and a cut of the action. Sometimes the extra paperwork, fees and trained staff required by bureaucracy are worth it (e.g. serving alcohol at events), sometimes not. You'd have to investigate how much bother the real world rules are when it comes to gaming and whether it's worth the extra effort and expense.

Hope this hasn't piddled on your parade. Sounds like a fun event. 😊
