I forgot why I never visit my town library- they don't even have a copy of Lolita.
I didn't know that was possible. In short, does anyone have a copy I can borrow?
And, on the walk back, I witnessed a near accident between a motorcycle and an ice cream truck. Could've been messy...... but probably delicious.

Behind the circ desk as you look to the right is a metal rolling shelf, hiding a full shelf of "classics" that are never checked out because no one knows about them. You can find many old books, including some Russian lit (Doestoevsky?), but to my memory no Lolita.
I'm fairly sure that most normal libraries (e.g. G-town) have it. They renewed my card without asking if I still went to school there, so they're scammable.
Good luck!
~Anna, who read Nabokov for the first time a few months ago!

I was especially saddened by the fact that the librarian didn't appear to have even heard of Nabokov, let alone Lolita......

Can a non-goffstowner check books out from the g-town library? I'm a little fuzzy on the inner workings of normal town libraries, I guess....

Just wanted to drop a line, since I actually have access to internet today and tomorrow morning. I will see you in... 23 days! (I may have counted wrong, but I know it's less than a month!)
With joyous anticipation for my return HOME,
your sister Kathryn
