Title/Song:“Get Out Alive”
Characters/Pairing: Claire, Peter
Rating: G
Summary/Spoilers: Very mild, for “.07%”
It's hard to imagine
But one day you'll end up like me
The second time she saw her father, he was holding his dead brother in his arms.
Her “uncle.”
Her hero.
She could barely bring herself to speak. Felt like she was an intruder on this grief. But she’d lost Peter too-even if she’d only known him for the space of a few heart beats.
At the least, she deserved to say goodbye.
And she couldn’t resist touching him.
Carding her fingers through his hair-seeing if the texture was anything like her own-and tracing the line of his jaw, she noted how her face looked nothing like his, except, maybe, for the shape of their ears.
And then her fingers skirted over the shard of glass buried in the back of his head.
She couldn't find any facial resemblance between them.
But they were alike where it mattered.

Long hours of loneliness
Between me and the sea
He’s not sure how he got here.
He thinks, maybe, he flew. Because one moment he's standing outside his mother's house, arguing, again, about his position-how he'll have to start all over, from the ground up-about Heidi and the boys, about his drinking, about...Peter. And the next moment he's thinking “I've got to get out of here” and then he's here, on the docks, and the sun's just set, and there's a brown bag in his hand holding a bottle that he barely recalls stopping to buy.
Flying while drinking.
He shrugs, screws open the bottle in the paper sack and takes a sip; it’s not like he can get a ticket for it.
He sits, swinging his legs over the edge of the dock. Below his feet the water is black and choppy.
In the crest of the waves, he sees Peter’s face.
Title/Song:“Cold” - Static X
Characters/Pairing: Sylar, Maya
Rating: PG
Summary/Spoilers: On the way to New York...
Your mouth
These words
Silence
It turns
It’s been a while.
Not since he still went by the name Gabriel. Not since his upstairs neighbor’s niece, who’d had an heirloom pocket watch that needed repairing.
She was sweet and somewhat shy, had brought him lunch in exchange for the watch repair when he'd refused to accept payment. (It had been such an easy fix...).
The sex was quick and awkward on the couch in his living room. She'd had trouble meeting his eyes afterward though she'd smiled and planted a vigorous, if sloppy, kiss on his mouth before she'd left.
He feels much more sure of himself now.
He makes Maya-warm and pliant in his arms-meet his gaze. Listens to the rapid beat of her heart, her quick breaths.
He could get her to do...anything.
