AUSA HAPPENED .... forever ago!
Hi,
My name is Ellie, and I am the neglectful owner of a livejournal.
I'm pretty good about checking livejournal for messages and responding to friend's post but I am terribly horrible about making my own posts. I am going to try my hardest to change that... and make a few more posts, before I get defriended by everyone for being inactive.
This was my first year going, I was pretty skeptical about the convention because i heard that it was a small con and I only go to big cons. And I head that the cosplay scene was pretty meh, as well as the venue (which i knew from katsucon 2009 T_T) but besides all that I decided to give it a try. Particularly because firelilly invited my sissy and I to be a part of her pretear group, with dokudel and some other lovely ladies. It was super awesome, however I did rush my costume a bit and ended up missing a few details.
I would like to re-do a few things and take a nice outdoors shoot but I may have to wait for the weather to warm up a tad. But other then that I like how it turned out - despite some drama involving the wigs @_@!
Sarah and I also had a pet project that we were both super excited for - pokemon gijinkas. We had too much fun in these costumes, probably mostly because they were simple and comfortable. A nice break from most of our cosplay choices. We intend to wear these again... often.
We didnt get a room for AUSA because we were trying to save some money. That turned out to be sort of a mistake because we missed out on a lot of fun with our friends. Next year we won't make that mistake.
Now I need to order some fabric and get started on Katsucon Costumes to avoid that dreaded hotel room power hour!
