What looks like a drowned rat, smells of the henna hair dye (still a week later my hair smells like herbal mud when wet) but feels absolutely fabulous? Ile after ~half an hour walk home in the rain after an Anathema gig.

And yeah, do check them out if you have a chance - they have made some of the most perfect songs in the universe. Temporary Peace, from the album A Fine Day to Exit, is one of my all-time favourites from any band/artist ever. Oh and do check the acoustic live version of Thin Air that I linked on Tumblr, it's pure love. Vinny's voice, and Danny's face and the way he's so immersed in the music he's playing, and holy shit I'm just listening/watching it over and over again almost in tears over how fucking beautiful it is...
And, nice, your dad sounds cool indeed! :D ...Mine listens to Lordi & Teräsbetoni, but probably wouldn't go see either live, I don't think... XD

But well, I think a big part of it was the humour of doing the Manowar thing in Finnish. It was hilarious, and the first album did all the "hero metal" tropes with a tongue-in-cheek kind of attitude. But they got too big, too popular, and the whole thing lost flavour but they had to keep doing it because they'd become so popular. Anyway. My dad has that first album and sometimes listens to it while driving... and I'll admit that the songs are fun to sing along to. As long as there are not too many witnesses. So yeah point! They're (or were) funny. ^_^
