It seems all the rumours about LJS being fired from writing The Vampire Diaries are true. She was hired to write the series for Alloy Entertainment and for whatever reason they're obviously not happy with her and have chosen to continue with a ghostwriter ( Read more... )

I do sympathize with the way that she let the fans know because I can understand if she's shocked and is half-hoping the fans might mobilize so that she will be able to finish them after all

But now she's saying that the fans shouldn't boycott or take any action, so I don't really understand what she was originally hoping to achieve in sending out emails to the fans like that...

I never did read The Vampire Diaries though, I always wanted her to finish The Night World series :/ Those books, and the Forbidden Game series, were always my favourites

I do sympathize because these books are her babies no matter how she came to write them but I found the focus on ships unnecessary. It would have been enough to say that she was fired and would not able to continue her vision of the characters.

I think she's now just trying to be professional. If I was in her place, I would hope the new books flop hard as a 'fuck you' to the people who fired her. I'm sure she does too.

I read them long after I read the rest. The Nightworld series was my absolute favourite.

Yeah it was a bit odd how she was almost playing up to the Damon/Elena shippers and now you won't have your Delena ending kind of thing

And mine too! Hee I used to be obsessed with Rashel the cat (so badass!) and Quinn (my favourites!) And of course Ash and Mary-Lynette. And Jez and Morgead.

I was just waiting for that final book for the millennium because she really seemed to be building towards an epic finish towards the last few books in the series. Oh well *sighs*

And hee me too, I remember for years I kept hopefully asking the people at WHSmith if the new Night World book had come out yet. I was so confused as to why she just suddenly stopped writing them

I've since found out that she had writers block apparently

I don't even know who LJS is, I suppose because I don't watch Vampire Diaries, but anything that upsets my iliana is BAD!

BAD whatever/whoever made iliana sad! *swats it with rolled up newspaper*

Here, have a cup of tea. And if that bad thing comes back, I'll kick it's ass.
