Reaction to Fortune

1) I have a big Chloe Sullivan sized hole in my heart right now. If she doesn't return for the finale, I'll be deeply traumatised.

2) By and large Fortune was crap. Nothing much happened for the majority of the episode and there was no plot. Anne Cofell Saunders can't write humour. In fact she can't write full stop. I don't know who's decision it was to make Chloe's last episode a joke and squash everything that mattered into the last few minutes of the episode. As much as I'd like to I can't blame ACS alone. Brian and Kelly and the whole writers room is at fault here.

3) Why was everything regarding Chloe's departure so sudden. It came out of nowhere. There was no build-up, no explanations and no reasoning. She was forced to go away and stay away (Fate Helmet) the first time. Fine. As convoluted as that is, I bought it. Why now?

4) The Chlark barn scene was almost perfect. With another writer it may have been perfect. A few lines is all it would have taken. For Clark to have a reaction to Chloe's announcement that she was returning to reporting (YAY).  One freaking line about how it was always her calling would have been enough. One line. He knew what it once meant to her. It would have made sense for him to comment on her returning to her dream.

5) Chloe leaving without a word to the others. No. Especially Oliver. Just no. There was simply no reason for it and not something I believe she would put him through again. I wanted them to make the decision to leave together. She's going to Star City for God's sake. Why wouldn't they leave together? Otherwise, the last scene was very beautiful.

6) To sum up. Chloe's a reporter again. She's helping heroes and has met BATMAN and WONDER WOMAN. She's happy. And in love. I should be ecstatic and I would have been if her last episode was handled better.

7) I cried my eyes out.
