classic painters always used oil paints. nowadays, acrylic paint is more popular because it dries faster, and requires less mess.

i would be oil paint in an acrylic world. so many spills, so little time.

If you're into painting, you really should try oil at some point. The quality is far superior and well worth the effort and extra cost.

I always liked oil paint better, if you want to change something a day later, you can. Although it can be less forgiving. Once I sat on one of my oil painting after it had been drying for a week...it wasn't dry yet ;P
