Oh say can you see?

 Alright. well.
I was initially reluctant to start one of these things, but I figure I think about a lot of shit that just gets forgotten in the abyss of my subconscious so why not document some of it?

Here's one thing that's been on my mind a lot lately: conceptual art.

haha yeah, I don't know why I was so against it. I guess for the most part i just didn't think anyone actually cared about what i am thinking. But i'm starting to get over that notion. Anyways, i'm curious to know if you (being an artist yourself) have any thoughts on the actual subject of said post.

i feel like in a way that your statement is valid, but in some aspects it is a stretch. I feel like art should be aesthetically pleasing and shouldn't make you want to move on to the next piece. I am sure that many artists think that they have a vision when creating art, but many times, especially with modern art, I feel like it is bullshit. Yeah, you can say that this meant that, etc, but when it comes down to it, a lot of modern art requires little or no talent as an artist. For instance, google image search "Composition with Red Blue Yellow" by Piet Mondrian, famous piece, requires no talent. I'm sure the guy was thinking, this is a reflection of blah blah blah, but if that is the case, why don't you go and write some poetry, create a film, or take some photos of something that actually reflects your artistic vision rather than painting some bullshit (not saying that poetry, film, photos are exempt from the bullshittery because they too often have productions that leave much to be desired and look like children were casted to do ( ... )

Well Ryan, with all due respect, I completely disagree. I see your point obviously, because it is the attitude shared by the majority of people on this subject. I don't really know anyone who agrees with me on this besides most of my art professors ( ... )
