Why do we often think so much that life has a list of achievements that by X age we have to have accomplished Y task? For example, by age 30 we should be married or have a significant other of some kind, or children or...whatever ( Read more... )

A lot of it I think is just society in general. From day 1 we're pretty much taught that money is the be-all and end-all of life, and the more we get the "better" we must be. Carries on like that until retirement when you're deemed useless and tossed on the scrapheap. At that point you're replaced by a little box (of electronics); the next standard step is to put you inside one.

Me? Nuts to it. Be yourself, do what you want to do. :)
