I just don't think there are going to be any more issues of Cooks Source to print your apology in. If it were me I wouldn't pursue the matter any further. She might need that last $130 to fake her own death and flee to a country without internets.
Can we link to your blog entry???ext_310479November 5 2010, 11:36:54 UTC
Hey Sexy. I am putting together our A and S newsletter for the Middle Kingdom. May we link to your blog post on the Cooks Source piece as I think it is important?
It really is amazing to see the power of the internet. Last year, I got barred from our local SF convention here in Ireland, leading to all sorts of Internet shenanigans ( here and here.) There was also a lot of discussion all over the 'net, and one of these days I mean to go track it all down, just for posterity. It really was astonishing to see how people rallied around what they saw as an injustice that needed putting right. This 'Internet Justice' phenomenon is truly fascinating, and I'm sure there's a thesis in there for someone, if they wanted to look into it!
And it reminded me of a little bit of plagiarism I suffered from myself: I wrote a review ( here), which is closely mirrored by another review (here) by someone else, several years later. I wrote to the site, where the editor assured me he could see no similarity of any kind, but none the less assured me that the writer was 'no longer with the site

Whoa, lady, you are srsly Internet famous. I heard the story yesterday morning as "Some SCAdian had an article stolen" and then when I had time to read about it LIEK WHOA. So I'm telling everyone your story - my officemates just had a good laugh because we sure as hell don't let OUR students get away with this!
Not sure about the facebook apology, her account and that of the "magazine" were hacked by someone. I didn't see one, but the facebook page kind of blew up with comments.
Your requests were reasonable, and fair. But since she decided to be an ass, her career is pretty much over. Sorry this happened to you.
