Ok, but make sure you attribute your Jayne hats to Joss when you knit him as is his due.

So I created a facebook event to encourage people to rally in their kitchens and make and eat apple pies and tarts all weekend. That seems like a good and tasty way for us all to support you.

Sorry. Don't do twitter or facebook. the_godiva November 6 2010, 06:31:52 UTC
Got here from reading the article linked from Huffington Post.

Someone is going to get a pound of flesh from Ms. Griggs (sous vide perhaps). It may be Martha Stewart, Paula Deen, NPR or Disney. Who knows?

I wanted to thank you for the original recipe on godecookery.

My parents have a fig tree and I usually eat them all right from the tree as, aside from jam, I really don't know what to do with figs.

Now I'm going to try a pie with apples and pears using your recipe. I assume you use the figs fresh. I'm also considering using the new variety of honey crisp apples rather than the golden delicious since there is little sugar in the recipe.

As for Ms. Griggs, I don't imagine her magazine is going to be in business much longer. I know you feel violated, but let it go. Bigger fish with deeper pockets will take her down.

Just sit back and watch the show. Have a piece of pie perhaps.

What's so funny about this to me is that I came upon those pie recipes *years* ago while surfing around for mead recipes & thought "this is exactly why I love the Internet, where else could you find something like this?" I guess now we know. Full circle. LOL
